Weatherscan Music: The Complete Collection


Six songs on this collection were composed by Trammell Starks. The songs are:

Track 9: Tropical Breeze
Track 15: Reflections In Time
Track 21: Memories Of The Past
Track 27: Late Night Cafe
Track 31: A Little Jazz

The titles and composers of the other songs are unknown.


Lineage: Comcast Motorola DCH70 digital set-top cable box >> Roxio Video Capture USB stick (sound portion) >> WAV >> Audacity (editing out the bits and pieces) >> FLAC


All of the 33 tracks have been recorded directly from a Comcast cable box (tuned to Weatherscan) using a Roxio Video Capture USB stick. Each track has been recorded at least three times, in an attempt to completely remove all of the Vocal Local narrations that constantly interrupt this music. Using Audacity, I attempted to replace certain bits on one recording that have narrations with the same bits on another recording that don't.

After all of the editing was finished, the tracks were then saved into individual FLAC (lossless) music files. The whole editing process took about two days. It may have been a hard task, but it also was fun doing so. 

I listened to each and every one of the edited tracks to make sure that I did not miss any narrations, and it appears that I’ve cleaned up every nook and cranny pretty well.


To go along with the music collection, I’ve provided some artwork, which was designed using Adobe Photoshop. The background pictures were taken by me in 2013 and 2014.
